R3 Public BETA 1.3.120 Patch Now Available

R3 Public BETA 1.3.120 Patch Now Available

BETA, BETA, BETA....

Hello All.

The latest build of the R3 Beta (officially called build 1.3.120) is now located in the private members area for you to download.

You need to be a registered owner of the game to obtain this build.

This patch corrects a number of issues with the previous build (1.3.84) including;

- Arcade control fixes. The QB properly reacts when you pull back the controller after the snap.
- Numerous Canadian clock rules fixes.
- Various depth chart fixes.
- Various stats fixes.
- Player generation fixes (players should no longer generate skill over the 99 level).
- Various draft fixes.
- Injured player substitution fixes.
- Various PDS fixes.
- Added additional checks to ensure that 3rd party stadiums don't crash the game if they're not assembled properly.
- Saved game fixes.
- Second half kick off bug fixed.
- A couple of utilities fixes.
- With indoor rules, a touch back on a missed field goal now comes out to the 10 yard line. Previously, it was placed at the point of the kick.
- A safety scored in sudden death overtime no longer requires the scoring team to receive a kick off, but rather the game just ends.

I've also added support for a 53 man roster, and 7 round draft.

There have been a few bugs reported in the past week that you will not find fixed in this build. Such things as a delay of game called on a defensive team during an audible, or the inability to set motion going backwards on a US field, as well as some others. These issues were reported too late for me to get into the build you're about to download, but I can assure you I'm working on them (some are already fixed).

So that said, when is the next one? Well, Christmas is approaching quickly. I think we all know what that means. Things tend to slow down for a week or two. I would not expect a further public beta until after the new year.. a note to the private testers, you're not off the hook because I'll still be sending you builds [;)]

Again, this is a BETA release, you will still see odd things happen, but hopefully, far fewer of them.

Thanks for your support.

Hmm yeah.. I just checked and you're correct. It was working fine about 20 minutes ago. (I know, I downloaded it to make sure everything was working okay)

They may be having a bit of a server problem. I know the forums are really slow to load for me too in the past 1/2 hour or so. Too much traffic maybe? I'm afraid this is out of my area to deal with. Lets give it a few minutes and see what happens.

Thanks

OK, I've just downloaded the new release (Thanks DW!), I want to install it, but I don't want to lose my teams, players, depth charts, etc...  Which files should I backup and then drop into the new patch?
Could someone please give me a complete list? (A list of the files that are recommended to backup and carry over between patches might be a good text file to include in all future patches...)

If they're custom leagues, you won't need to worry too much as the game will simply import them as soon as it finds them (as long as they're all in the correct folders).

From here, it's a bit more tricky. As much as I try to keep the league structures consistant from build to build, in the process of fixing bugs, I sometimes have to change the league database structures. The game can upgrade existing structures, but it can't insert missing data. This is why I suggest resetting leagues so that the game isn't trying to load data from tables that doesn't exist.

So, while you can certainly import leagues, teams, uniforms, etc.. it may not always be possible to keep existing league data. Especially in the beta process while I'm fixing bugs.

Thanks for the update.  I just copied the .84 version to a new folder to save it and I re-created my custom league.
