Bound for Glory, Union perspective

Post by nmleague »

I will try to add some to Timo's AAR of our ongoing Bound for Glory PBEM game.

The Union has been concentrating on trying use resources for buildings, unit upgrades and diplomacy. We are using a difficulty setting of "Captain" and the drain on resources is going to make this a challange. With spring begining the action should heat up.

I will try to start getting some screen shots to add. This last turn had an interesting situation, when I opened the game and check things out I saw that two different sea sections had one of his blockade runners and one of my fleets, but I didnt see any damage report for his blockade runners.

One note I have been shifting garrisons from all the farther norther cities forward and in some cases have added 2-3 brigades per fort near Washington in case he tries to invade.

I have two PBEM games going on now, both as the Union.  For this one I tried starting out more aggressively using impressment to try to build up resources since we are using a higher difficulty level.  Targeted cities with a 70 or 80% chance of success and only with a high rate of return (like 40 horses).  It worked to some extent, but even with the high chance of success I had a few backfire, like having riots destroy a Mansion in Boston.  Not sure the Union can recover.  With spring beginning the Union is on the move!!

Turn 6

I think the CSA has intentions for my capital, see how the end of winter gets things going.

Tried impressment again, gained 30 labor.

Getting 2000 reinforcements from camps each turn, will try to build another camp this turn.

Diplomacy:  spending 40 each for FRA and GB, 20 for other EUR,  so far ahead of the CSA with FRA and equal with GB and other.

Upkeep is really hurting resources and developement at this time.

Its February and the forces of freedom and right are on the move.
4th Army is tryilng to attack White River
Army of ILL is trying for Hatchee
Army of KEN is trying for Knoxville
The AOP is making 3 seperate attacks.

Will see what the CSA is made of this turn.
