I won't mind shelling out $40 for a CC title that is graphically enhanced by Marc Schwanebeck. First of all, I'd consider it backpay for all the time I spent playing CC5 with Marc's graphics mods. :) And I won't turn my nose on any other improvements, but the game as-is is pretty darned fun.

Oh, I´m blushing now, LOL.

You mean the "Panzerfeind!" and "Panzer marsch!" mods right? The "Panzer marsch!" mod was done together with Andrew Bruce aka "Zonbie", he did all the US stuff, I the German tanks. Jesus, that is so looooong ago [;)]

Yes, those were the mods. Fantastic stuff (forgot about zonbie's involvement, but not now).

And yes, it was a long time ago. Too long if you ask me. [:)]

Is this true? Hope so, it would be nice to see it in time for Xmas. I will probably DL instead of hard copy.

Naw, seems like yesterday! So good to see the best and the brightest still on the job! Here's to COI -- I'll gladly
pay full price for a game that beats ANY WW2 tactical game out there right now (just IMHO ;) )

Reminder to everyone -- PC games are going the way of the dodo. Look in your local EB or other game dealer -- walls of Xbox, Nintendo, Playstation, etc.,
and yet now only one small shelf of PC games. Let's support what we have while we have it -- or your faced with buying your latest whizz-bang
Xbox game for $59.95.

Worst comparison review to date -- the much vaunted "Company of Heroes" was touted to be the game that CC should have
been by no other than the Computer Gaming World (now "Games For Windows") wargame/strategy reviewer! Anyone who's seen
COH will realize in about 6 seconds it's no COI! Shore is purty tho!

I think it would be cool if matrix could come up with something similar to steam.

What on earth for? You can already download and play each game immediately on release in remarkably grief-free fashion.

As to Steam itself, "massive user base" or not, games other than the usual FPS and RTS big-sellers seemed to have fared very poorly. Dangerous Waters, which is a pretty 'Matrixy' sort of product sold virtually no copies via Steam, despite a price which was and is an absolute steal. As, I assume, it costs to use Steam for distribution I suspect many Matrix releases via Steam would lose more money than they make.

Ain't that the truth?, and over here, you will be lucky to find as much as a small shelf...

But what is depressing is the paucity of types and styles?  I guess the money god rools ok, and most Publishers will want MaxBangForBuck.  I do seem to remember some time ago (years) looking forward to the Xmas new releases as there seemed to be some choice, even if I was not personally interested in them.  Whan I look now, I only seem to see 2 or 3 different types.  On the other hand, my age (getting on for boring old fart/grumpy old man) may have something to do with it, and that is an appealing thought... No I don't think we will consider Steam.
Wise choice. Very wise choice. [:D]

Would you consider Steam? It's becoming quite the popular platform.

You're serious aren't you? [:-]
