FOW or what

Post by vonSchnitter »

Hi Gents,

while having fun with the game, I stumbled across something I care to call a FOW inconsistancy.
O.K., I tend to be lazy, but I think I read the manual, but I am not sure I caught the drift on FOW.

Here are two shots of the same situation:

Remember that the first law of motion is to look where you're going. A man with a stiff neck has no place in an airplane.

and here is the second:

There is a complete federal army missing ?

The fun part is: Using the mouse on the tactical map, the presense of this army is revealed - to a measure - by indicating a large number of "blue bellies" in a province.

However, none of the "indications" have any relation.

I would be glad for a clarification.

And what is more:

The statistics appear to be the same for both sides in a PBM, even though no measurements are provided in the screens - adding a slight measure of mystifikation, it does break any sort of FOW ?

Cheers

The overview map is supposed to give you some information that breaks FOW.  The thinking behind this was that it was very hard to keep information such as the location of a large military group actually secret during the Civil War, given that such things were commonly reported in newspapers.  The details of the military groups could be better concealed.
