JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
Over in Illinois my army still waits at the river. They are being raided of supplies by two raiders, but for now their supplies remain high. I sent over two brigades from the AOM and now the AOI is at 28,000 men strong. There's a division of approx 10,000 men at Hatchie with another 15,000-20,000 coming over from Arkansas.

In Kentucky both forces have, as expected, moved out. The Confederate forces remain hidden within the fog of war while the AOK is at 55,000 strong.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
It's a small possibility I can get the AOK over to Wheeling before they manage to garrison it so I'm sending the 55,000 strong army over there. Those two divisions are exaggerated in numbers, they are more around approx 20,000-30,000 men sitting in Parkersburg. If I fail in getting there quickly enough I'm still going to try and send them over to Parkersburg to avenge my fallen comrades.
Also I've formed all the units in Grafton into one divisions and sent the other empty division container off to the AOM. At 11,000 men I'm sending them over to Kenawha to try and cut off this Confederate unit's only supply line. This is of course if they are are not planning to attack Grafton.

Further East the AOP remains at the river. The ANV of 100,000 men has moved over to the Rappahanock for reasons I don't know of.

My navy has made it to the Carolinian Atlantic where the two Confederate Fleets are docked. I'm leaving them here and I've set them to Intercept. They shouldn't be able to get away now.

Overview:
Those two divisions near my division at Kenawha are false. One of them are the two divisions at Parkersburg, which gets pushed down on the overview map when forces are stacked, and the other one is an empty container.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
Since Winter is near and combat will be less likely I have set some of my units to No Supply so I have a boost in my economy income. However I really want to drain the south of any diplomacy benefits at all so I'm increasing my spendings on Foreign nations.
The Governor of Maine is requesting an Academy so I'm happy to oblige. I'm going to be needing academies for further promotions and what better way to get one if it makes one of my Governors happy. I then start building two Mints in Rochester to increase money income. Finally I build a hospital in Cairo, where the AOI is, since I have absolutely no Hospitals out in the west and I need to start building places I can protect my army's from disease and increase disposition(morale).
I'm going to continue stockpiling my Horses so I can start building some camps and other useful building. I'm also continuing to stockpile weapons since I'm not sure yet where weapons will be most needed.
That's it for now. Does anyone know if it's actually possible to attack enemy runners or if having a navy unit on top of a Runner will increase the chances of it being destroyed?

To end the turn I promote Keyes, the Army Commander of the AOK, to my next 4 star General.

Events 2/2
Well.. it would appear the ANV is besieging my fort that is situated at the Rappahanock, and he's doing a good job as well.
I forgot to mention I demoted General Mott, a Corps Commander, to a division commander. This allows me to promote another Corps commander who is more fit for the job.
The AOK moved successfully and even went into combat but failed to kill a single person. Annoying.
For some strange reason an Impressment started in Milwaukee, a city in Wisconsin. I have no idea why.
The Raiders destroyed some more supplies but hurrah! One of them was destroyed.
Britian sends some money to the CSA and support increases. I managed to lower French support for the CSA.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
Nothing good has really happened yet. Not bad either mind you but I've missed small opportunities that would of helped.
The AOK indeed made it to their destination but failed to carry out their objective. They engaged the small brigade at Wheeling as well as the large divisions at Parkersburg but failed to do any damage what so ever in both attacks resulting in zero casualties. Now I've simply wasted men to marching attrition and the CSA has Wheeling. I'm moving the AOK and 18th Division, equaling 64,000 men, over to Wheeling to Plunder it.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
It remains quiet in the East apart from this damned siege at Ft.Monroe. I am truly surprised they can take out half the garrison in one turn with terrible Artillery and Engineer ratings and only take about the same amount of casualties.
There's nothing I can do to stop it. It's winter and movement is penalized. Besides, attacking is not really an option quite yet.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
Further West my forces stay idle awaiting orders. The CSA Division in Arkansas continues it's march to Mephis. No doubt he is taking attrition damage marching through this weather. I have upgraded the Army of Illinois of 25,000 men with Minie Rifles. I'm expecting to see a lot of combat in the West so I have to start somewhere.
I have also started recruitment of a Cavalry Brigade in Indianapolis. They will take 6 turns to make and will be used to hunt down the Confederate Raiders. This uses up most of my Gold and Horses for this turn.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
My economy steadily grows and my Diplomacy is beginning to pay off.
To further strengthen my economy I'm building two more Mines in Harrisburg along with a Mint in Dover. My Corps Container has also finished and I have sent it over to the AOP. However I am shocked to find it's rating is rather bad.. Logistics Rating at Terrible and Command Rating at Bad. What's the meaning of this? [:(] Oh well, it's not like these Army Containers are any better.

That ends this turn. Hopefully things will improve soon because I am not satisfied.
I promote McClellan to a Corps commander within the AOP.

Events 2/2
The siege at Ft.Monroe was unbelievably successful in only 2 turns. They'll capture it next turn. They only lost about 2,000 men in the siege, I pray to God they take more from Disease and attrition.
Not much happened otherwise. Their raider is unsuccessful in their raid of supplies and I finished my Hospital in Cairo.
My Diplomacy is working very well, I have pushed down the support from France to 0 and the other two to 1.
The Governor of Connecticut now supports Tactical Research which adds +5 in that section. Great!

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
In the West the AOM is having a hard time getting together because of this weather. It seems the confederates are having the same problem at Crowley's Ridge; once I get the AOM together I'll try to attack that enemy. I also upgrade several of the units with Minie Rifles, much better than Improvised weapons.

RE: JonReb(USA) v ShootMe(CSA): For the Union!
With the AOI I'm going to attempt to attack the enemy division at Hatchie. I won't be able to capture the province (since no territory I own is besides it) but I can at least do some damage to that unit and get some cheap quality. It will be quite hard during the Winter but if they can manage it it will be more of a surprise, won't it?
