I found the analysis of the tactics particularly interesting. Also the fact that Hosogaya seemed so preoccupied with the threat of Allied land based air.

Vince O'Hara's book covering all USN surface battles in WWII (those involving ships of DD size and up) should be coming out soon.

I thought that Eric M. Bergerud was going to write a book on the naval battles of the Pacific to follow up his two books on land warfare and air warfare in the Pacific.  Anyone know about this? [&:]
