RE: Another allied offensive
ALLIED COMMANDER UPDATE:
The British navy, in its first significant victory since Trafalgar, lost a cruiser but took Tavoy, behind enemy lines Now hopefully over 150k Japanese troops in Burma are cut off from supplies and engaged by British & Indian ground troops. Rangoon under siege, Moulimen cut off, more forces moving in to secure Tavoy. Will the Japanese attempt a breakout?
Iwo Jima receives another cargo drop of sunbathing lotion to maintain morale and physique, but the Marines grumble as American & Canandian fighter pilots compete for navy nurse attention. Meanwhile bomber crews in the US train for the ultimate bombing campaign of mainland China.
Once i figure out how to put up screen shots i will show more of the Iwo Jima campaign shots i saved from a month or so ago....

Air combat
Heavy air combat over Burma, as IJAAF bombers escorted by Oscars and Zeroes attempt to close the new allied base in Tavoy. The whole action costed about 20 planes to Japan and 30 to allies, but allied losses elsewhere increased the overall number of lost aircraft to 40. Meanwhile, another stupid Japanese convoy approached Iwo Jima....as if we didn´t lose enough destroyers.

Bloody turn
-Japanese air forces achieved a significant victory over allied forces in Burma, as about 100 planes were destroyed over Tavoy, in exchange for about 60 Japanese planes. Over Japan, another raid inflicted moderate damage to our engine factories, but Tojos achieved their first succesfull interception, shooting down 3 B-17´s and damaging much more. Intel estimates that about 10% of the enemy bombers were lost.

RE: Bloody turn
The air war over Burma goes on, with Japan keeping a 2:1 causalty rate. The homeland was spared today. Ki-43´s are clearly obsolete when compared with the P-40´s, althought they still can get the upper hand over Hurricanes (even achieving this is becoming more difficult as the exp level of pilots decrease). Pilots in Bangkok keep crying for Tojos.

RE: Bloody turn
Allied Commander Update:
Offensive operations have stalled lately, as replacement parts for damaged fighters are shipped into Tavoy. British ground forces squandered the precious opportunity to take Rangoon by rushing all around Burma to secure their colonial real estate investments.
Meanwhile the US Marines on Iwo Jima continue to gripe as more heavy bombers arrive with pilots to compete for navy nurse attention. But thankfully supplies have reached a level sufficient for the rest of the war, and the first ground troops in America, Canada, and Pearl are pre-planning Japanese invasion hexes. Sasebo was scrapped after Intelligence discovered the presence of 254,058 men there in the ASigint report. Hopefully recon flights and bombing missions will reveal Japanese homeland weaknesses before Operation Coronet takes place...

Burma air war
-Bloody combat over Tavoy, and the Japanese air forces again achieved a 2:1 kill rate against the enemy, However, a few disagreements are emerging between Zero and Ki-43 pilots as the latter are being used as baits in order to allow the better Navy fighters to bounce the enemy planes. The arrival of the brand new Ki-44 to Bangkok was again delayed, resulting in complaints from IJAAF pilots.

Burma campaign
-The tide seems to be turning in favor of Japanese, at least in Burma. Tavoy was effectively neutralized as air base, althought it still poses serious troubles to Japanese supply lines. Yesterday, Japanese heavy surface units attempted a bombardment on Tavoy, sinking 4 transports and inflicting moderate damage to the base. To make thigs worse to allied forces, an assault on Rangoon resulted in heavy losses to their troops. The enemy strategic bombing campaign goes on, but the enemy bombers now are attacking population centers. More and more Japanese air defense squadrons are being upgraded to Ki-44 and the enemy is avoiding cities protected by these planes. Unfortunately, there aren´t enough Tojos to defend all the Japanese air space and this have been allowing the bombers to work with relative impunity.
