COTA takes the Gold!

Post by MarkShot »

In the upcoming issue of the French print magazine, Cyberstrategie, (Jan/Feb #6) COTA will be awarded a Gold medal for best Historic Wargame of 2006. Vive la difference! Vive Panther Games! :)

PS: The other game I test for Birth of America developed by AGEOD was also recognized in this category and is now also available for download from Matrix.

[X(]How ironic...the developers of both games, Panther and AGEOD, have the best and quickest devs/support of all! Good job guys[;)].

I am pleased to hear of this award.  This game is truly a masterpiece and deserves all the recognition it can get.

Yes COTA is fresh game on the market that is dominated more or less by turn based wargames games.

It is really sad that COTA is not so popular than some other games. I estimate popularity of game from how active its forum is.

Mark,

Thanks for the heads up. I'll grab an issue of the magazine early next year.

There are some common points between the two games : you're part of both beta-test teams and Robin Pirez did some art for both of them (*). I'm not sure which one is the most determinant. [;)]

Cheers,

JeF.
(*) to be fair, Robin only did a mod for COTA and the complete art work on BoA.

Just to let you know that in that context (Gold laurel in Cyberstratege), COTA got a mention on the French radio podcast GameFM. Pretty short blurb but mentionned as an innovative design in serious wargame category.

I now have the magazine in my hands. Criteria to award the laurels : entertainment with a solid strategy value, well made with a good follow-up (patches, relationship with the community), innovation, good lifetime with editing and mod capacities.

So well done Panther !! It is well deserved. And thanks to Théo, Robin and the CS team. [:)]
