Desperately needed mod!

Post by Berkut »

OK, I am no modder, so this is actually a request.

Could someone please, pretty please with sugar on top, PLEASE create a mod for the loading screen? Replace that ugly graphic with something that looks less like a 2nd year graphics arts students semester project?

And even more importantly, that sound file where the various disparate voices are shouting about their cartridges, and loading them, and charging them, and whatever? Damn, that is annoying as hell! And this game takes FOREVER to load, so I have to listen to them ramble for far to long.

Thanks in advance!

Its easy to do. The screen sits in the gfx sub folder and is called ACWMaximBk. Its a 1024 x768 graphic that is actually a Photoshop file. I assume the load indicator and the actual maxims are superimposed on it. So, for example you should be able to take any picture resized to that proportion and simply replace it in the subfolder with that name as its filesave - make sure you back up the original in case you change your mind.

As regards loading faster I don't think thats an option - its fast compared to some games. The screen itself is a simple job - all it takes is some art skill - or just locating a few decent pictures from the period and collaging them together.
