CSA Emancipation

Post by fumbles »

In the current game I am playing as the Union, and the confederates are played by the computer, the CSA played the emancipation card. Three states pulled out of the war, Louisiana, Georgia and North Carolina. Does this mean that these are 3 states are now effectively neutral or do I eventually still have to conquer them? What are the effects of the states pulling out of the war? On a side note, with Louisiana out of the war, how do I aquire all of the Mississippi River?

Carrying this a step farther..., if they've left the Confederacy, are they now back in the Union? Or are they still in revolt, but not "alligned" with anyone? Or have they simply "left the field" and dissappeared into the Andromeda Galaxy? What is their status?

The only thing it shows on the map is that they are in unrest for a variable amount of turn some up to 20 or more turns. What happens after the unrest?

They can still be conquered by the North (the states are no longer supporting the CSA, but they did not rejoin the Union).  Their territory is still considered CS territory for game purposes, but the economic capabilities of their cities is greatly reduced.
