Starshatter: The Gathering Storm takes the standard first person combat of other space simulations, streamlines the gameplay, and adds in the ability to command larger vessels and entire battle groups.
Except that the gameplay isn't streamlined. It's an absolute PAIN to control multiple starships and there are conflicting ways to control them (nav screen versus radio versus F3).
Don't get me wrong, I like the game, I just wish more effort had been put into the starship side (which feels a little tacked on) and less into the fighters (specifically planet-based fighter combat, the rest is good).
