Umm...there has to be a dog in the bathroom before you can blame it on one Tracer.

I joined in 2000
I think I am part of the VERY old crowd..
[;)]

IIRC, this place opened in 3/2000; before then the 'SP crowd' hung out at the Raiders forum (and I'm pretty sure I used to see your name there).

Hmmm...I just noticed that they no longer display your 'member-#' here. At one time each person's member-number appeared beneath their 'joined'-date, and since they were sequential a 2- or 3-digit member-# meant 'old-timer' ('course back then that could mean they pre-dated you by a couple months!).
Well I came along in 4/2000 so....
I was an early one..

This forum wasn't on the map until Bernie, me, Flash, and Ken got here. Loser.[:'(]

Ill tell you I think your all a bunch of twits if you take offense at a simple statement such as the one gunny made. I sit here and read where this are that one is offended by what seems to me nothing and i get sick reading the get one up crowd rantings. It reminds me so much of the time I was in 1st grade and every body there acted the same as I see some act here. Im sorry but theres just too much taking offense over trivial things in this world anymore.

Actually, I joined up back in 2000 as well, but under a different name. In 2001 I had a "disagreement" with the management here, and I "retired". A year later, I came back under this nom-de-guerre.

The statement was offensive because there is a basis for offense, robot. I did not just log on and decide to be offended by the first post I read; I think you know that.

There is a very in-depth history behind some of our feelings, which most people are unaware of, and which is part of the reason I spoke up. It is not 'trivial' by any means. I do not want newer players thinking things that are inaccurate and based on false statement, and will speak up when I see it happen.

I do apologize if I appeared rude. I was attempting to be straightforward. My apologies to you, robot, but I will speak up when I feel I should.

I'm sorry you feel that way Robot. My purpose here was to reply to a statement made by Gunny, regarding his opinion of why many of the members here no longer visit or post here. If you were party to past such episodes with Gunny perhaps you would understand why it was important to do so.

It's not a case of "taking offense". Glenn's statement, unchallenged, might have had newcomers here believing it to be fact, rather than opinion. As someone who is a member of, as he termed it, "the 'old' SPWaW crowd", I felt a rebuttal was in order. Who better to rebut such a statement then representatives of the very group he speaks of?

Well I guess this thread turned out to be yet another example that should teach one and all to be aware of the watchword "Responsibility" while posting.

While fishing you can open a can of worms and at worst end up cleaning up a tangled mess of the slippery critters...on a forum you open up a can of worms and they may just eat you alive. [:'(]
