New patch for a New Year?

Now that the holidays are over, is there any word on the progress of the newly proposed -- I won't say promised -- version 2.5 fix?

I am not so much into the "when" but the "if".  Mike, I am sure, has lot on his plate, as all the Matrix Team does.  I'd just like to know if it's doable.
