35% Discount Expiring in days

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

For those of you that have purchased World at War, your chance to get A World Divided at 35% off will be expiring in a few days (expires January 7).

Go here to find out the details: http://www.matrixgames.com/games/promos.asp?gid=330

If you have any questions about the improvements in AWD, now's the time to ask them.

I take it you mean the original WAW game and not AWD?

I have neither game but I am going to buy one of them........I played the demo for WAW and liked the gameplay so is it worth buying AWD instead for the improvements in A.I., user-interface? I'm not to clear on this, elaborate......

Can I even buy the original WAW now because I can't find where to purchase it on your site?

Don't buy GGWAW-1, buy GGWAW-AWD. It is much improved.

I agree. WAW was a good game, but AWD is better IMHO.

Nice generalisations there,

How exactly is it improved? What are the main improvements? What does the AI do that it does not do in WAW?

Details please.

Uhm, I would like to be more detailed but it is difficult for me to write in english.

WAW adn AWD are very similar as they share the same engine. Visually they look quite the same.

Improvements over WAW:
* Espionage: very semplicistic IMHO but it's a nice addition.
* Diplomacy: again, an interesting addition. You cannot invade everyone without consequencies.
* Random political events (like HOI)
* Research: there is more "randomness" (and it's funnier IMHO) than in WAW.

I find AWD IA good and challenging. If you make a wrong move, it can react quite good. Playing Germany (IA level normal), i find SU IA overall good while Western Allied IA IMHO is a bit too cautious (end of 1943, no D-Day even if my western front is lightly defended). With SU, I was beaten badly by German AI, but it was my first game [:o]

Another difference with WAW: in AWD there aren't combat animation. I liked them in WAW, they give to the player the feeling of the battle.
