Campaign Files?

Does anyone know where I can get the original Campaigns.ace file, or where I can download the uncompressed campaign files? I want to use a custom ship in the campaign, and I discovered that I need to edit the Alliance.def file... but now that those idiots over ar Grouper have shut down the file sharing, I have no idea where to get this file.

Anyone out there have any suggestions?

What compression format are the game's data files in?

what I have is compressed into an .ace file, but I suppose it could be zipped up using any of the other compression software out there...

winRAR files seem to be the most common...

Actually, the campaign.ace file is only for the Highland campaign. If you download the de-datter called Starmod from the Starshatter website, you can unlock all the campaign files as well as things like the Alliance.def.

Realize though, that in order to replace an entire ship design series (ie. Asher) the Alliance .def is not where you would do that.

Got it today, Zanthras... thank you. After playing around with that Starmod thing, I actually did decompress all of the game files, including the campaign files.

I am now playing with 4 StarClass28 cruisers in my group [:D]

I can't remember who designed that particular ship, but it's kicking @ss hehe
