Any Plans to re-release Desert Fox

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Any Plans to re-release Desert Fox

Post by herr1 »

After a very buisy 18 months at work I am keen to start purchasing the SPWAW mega campaigns. I have heard that Desert Fox is sold out, it is a shame as this is the one I would be most keen to play.

Are there any plans to re-release Desert Fox? I for one would be most keen to get my hands on a legal copy.

Moreover, are there any problems playing mega campaigns using later versions of SPWAW than they were designed for?

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Herr1, you should try to Order the MCNA CD trough Duchet, UK (http://www.duchet.com).
The CD is sold out at Matrixgames shop, but perheaps is it still available via one of the resellers.:)

Well, I've just checked the Duchet site: Desert Fox seems to be always available there...

herr1, MCNA is great but you might want to wait to start it until the 7.1 patch is out. A couple of us playing MCNA in version 7.0 have noticed some problems (mainly lost leaders - see the "MCNA Help" thread). Version 7.1 is intended to fix those issues and should be out shortly <fingers crossed>.

Thanks kshinner

I have already ordered it from Duchet computers and am waiting its arrival. I will probably install it with version 5 or 6 on a different part of the hard drive and play it that way until 7.1 is out.

I also ordered it beacuse it it the MC I am most interested in and it apperas to be in short supply! So even if I wait 6 months or more for 7.1 it will still be worth the wait!

Be wary, young herr1. Playing a saved MC game from a previous version in a later one generally caused serious problems for me. Crash to desktop kind of problems...

In my zeal to play MCNA, I tried it out with 6.1 and 7.0. Both exhibited the lost leaders issue. Might be best to wait for 7.1. If the good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, we'll have 7.1 shortly.

Thanks for the advice kshinner

My wife informs me that MCNA has just landed on our doormat. Not bad after I ordered it online on Wednesday night! I will give it a quick go and get down to some serious gaming when v7.1 is out.

Its nice to be called young when I've just turned 40!
