couple of strange event

Post by 2gaulle »

I didn't give any order to my navy so I was surprise when I saw my CSA navy moving in Carolian Atlantic.
Immediately a battle occur. I have decided to reinforce. USA win the naval battle but taking all the loose (40 again 0).
More strange, a 2nd naval battle occur. Again USA win but have also all the loose!

Is there any logical reason or is it a bug?

p.s I have all the save.

By the way 2 time in a rows that I have a return to windows after the end of the turn![:@]

Was it a "quickbattle"?
What was the setting of the navy eg:seek battle?
Did you call for reinforcements?
If it was "QB" the ai could have called reinforcements?
Are you sure you didn't "accidentally" move the Navy?

Doesn't show any CSA in the report. Might be the Yanks are attacking a port. Looks like the same situation I had.

no

yes but they were in port

yes as I write. problem was not with reinforcements, but with the initial battle and with a 2nd battle for the same Navy
Are you sure you didn't "accidentally" move the Navy?

yep, I have check with the save, I save always before ending the turn. I have redo it the turn with the same result.

??? wasn't it 2gualle who reported the "strange event"

And to you beta-testers and the FoF staff, why not have a specific "event report" for port attacks?

But the silliest thing with ships/gunboats must be that the same strength symbol is used as for land units, it really ought to be small ships (and please make it one per ship strength). And while speaking of these symbols, why use the strength tab for CSA Partisan and Raider units??? Don't they just have two modes, dead or alive?

[:)]I was merely reporting what i've been told: It was a Port Attack. I just joined the FOF team so i am still learning...it's not the same as COG[;)]. The Dev's are no doubt busy with the patch and i have more free time than most so i will step in to help when i can[:)].
When i have mastered the game i will come here and pontificate[8D].

Should the smileys that you use be read exactly as they mean? In particular your [:D] . Second question; I joined the SSG test team (Battle of Normandy, Battle of Italy, Battlefront) after beating all and everyone playing Korsun Pocket as well as being a rules and game engine expert, what was the requisite for joining the FoF beta-team?

Not sure i understand the question[:D]<see smiley>.
re:FOF Team...I was a Beta-Tester for COG would be my first guess as they asked me to join[;)]. Second, i think they were looking for 6'7" ruggedly handsome men to even out the tester pool[8D].
