Game settings

Gary Grigsby’s World at War is back with a whole new set of features. World at War: A World Divided still gives complete control over the production, research and military strategy for your side, but in this new updated version you’ll also be able to bring spies into the mix as well as neutral country diplomacy, variable political events and much more. Perhaps the largest item is the ability to play a special Soviet vs. Allies scenario that occurs after the end of World War II.

Game settings

Post by blastpop »

Having played a few turns of the 39 scenario it seems to me that unit builds and movements of the computer controled units occurs fast. What are some good speed settings that are a good balance between speed and a chance to digest at least some of the game info as it passes by?

With experience I may be able to speed things up some, right now I'm trying to digest the game info without bogging the game too much.

Thanks!

Since that's so individual, I'd say just experiment a bit :) (I usually just run on default, but decrease the scroll speed setting to 2,0 for faster scrolling)

I guess that I mean to say- what setting in particular will control the AI production and movement display speed? With that info I can play with it until comfortable.

Thanks

The standard settings aren't that bad for me. But I can imagine that things can happen too fast for new players. Try increasing (like doubling) the values for all "delays" and "speeds" in the game preferences. Especially the "Non-Player Animation Speed" (default 0.5) could be interesting there as it defines the speed of AI movements.

You'd probably find that you want it faster eventually than you want it now.

In the game preferences menu, adjust the "Non-Player Animation Speed". A larger number is slower.

You can also turn off/on "Show AI Combat Reports".
