Japanese MLE's?

Why doesn't Japan have the ability to build/convert MLE's?
The Allies have them in the 1922 campaings but not the 1926!

If they do then its a bug... MLEs aren't even supposed to be in the game...

Looks like they are gone in version 1.205, but in version 1.0 in the 1922 campaign you could convert AK to MLE's.

Yup, they were there originally, but then some "dope" (yours truly) started laying 7000+ mine fields on all their Pacific bases thereby shutting down the Allied return. So this got "fixed" [:D]. You can still lay some big minefields, but you just have to base out of a level-9 port to do it.
