when I start the delay, I leave the whole force with its stance set to defend,, after they've dug their foxholes I set them to advance so their ready to fall back under the natural pressure of battle, and their foxholes don't disappear until their forced to move so u still get all the defensive bonuses but they'll retreat usually before going to any great suppresion/pinned/routed.

got to get ready to move my units out.turn 12 at the stream.

small parties cross.

and draw fire away from other units moving.

caught them in open ground!!

and still incuring into their approach.

across the creek in force! {turn 14}

nothing but sporadic confrontations up to turn 20-21 save.

turn 29 and their not really commiting!
