Sluggish Destroyer syndrome?

Post by Psycho0124 »

When piloting a destroyer, I usually use the manual system of controll and steer the ship using thrusters. I also like to use the nose cam when flying the thing as seeing the engines in the chase cam are kinda bright on my moniter and gives me a headache.

Anyway from time to time, I notice that with the engines at full burn (and shields down), the ship is accelerating far slower than it should be. When I switch to the chase cam ((By hitting F2) without modifying anything else) the acceleration returns to normal and I am able to get up to speed.

Why should the view I am using effect the manuverability of my destroyer?! This is a really wierd one and Im wondering if anyone else has suffered from the "sluggish destroyer" problem or noticed that this helps to solve it.

This game has quite a few very strange and off-the-wall bugs. Most have thier workarounds but does anyone know if there are any more patches in the works for this game?

I imagine the testers were using 3rd person for the destroyers and 1st person for the fighters primarily. So maybe they missed this.

Yeah it seems to be specific to certian areas as well. The problem doesnt happen in the Jerral or Trellis sectors but can sometimes be pretty bad in the Sollis sector. The power is cut back by around 80% or so and it affects both main engines and thrusters making manuvering using the nose cam impossable at times.

Ya think the patch team reads these forums?

I never noticed any sluggishness in 1st person (the only way I fly anything). Odd.

My game must just dislike me. The glitches I am seeing with this game remind me of Battlecruiser Millenium Gold in many ways. The only differance here is that there isnt a overbearing game creator trolling around on the forums insulting people that report bugs.

Unfortunately creator of this game (John DiCamillo) isn't seen around very often [:-]
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.
