Sometime in June....around the 5th ...I think......1944..........
Last turn I tried to run in a CA SAG to Bulla ....to kill his 2 damaged CVEs.....but his bombers chased me away.....though with little damage.........so
...this turn I ran in AAG 1 and it's untrained pilots.......who killed 3 AKs.......a SCer......and confirmed kill of one of the CVEs........aircaft losses were even....so good training for my pilots.......they will now retreat to Pelau...........
Boy, you don't let things go very easily. But I have to compliment you on the strike (Speedy was a much saddened man).
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
...this turn I ran in AAG 1 and it's untrained pilots.......who killed 3 AKs.......a SCer......and confirmed kill of one of the CVEs........aircaft losses were even....so good training for my pilots.......they will now retreat to Pelau...........
I finally caught up with the AAR. Nicely done Faber. Anytime you can kill a CV of any sort without loss it's a good day.
Going back a few days, regarding the Jap CLs, they aren't very good in a battle line but should make excellent individual raiders. Their main batteries are too weak even at close range for CA armor (unlike the USN 6") but against poorly escorted transports you might do some damage...I know, it's probably a long shot as I'm sure speedy has strong escorts...just a thought really, but Graycompany has used subs and spotter planes working with CLs to find and attack my shipping lanes.
Speedy has more or less said in an E-mail that the big boys are on the move.........so I fear his CENPAC strike is but days away.........I think it will be the Marianas........The airfields on Guam/Tinian/Siapan/Pagan are full of aircraft....I fear I am about to recreate the GMTS......as I think Speedy will lead with his Carriers ....rather than his BBs....as his raid on the HI proved....nothing can get through his Hellcats..........so I'm in two minds.....or maybe more about why I'm sacraficing all these airgroups.......
Recon also spotted some BBs at Timor......so he has grown tired of my surface raiders.......it looks as though he will strike in this theatre at the same time......at least 3 BBs have been spotted....he tends to run his BBs in 3s.....so let's hope that is all....if so I'll be tempted to try for a night action with SAG 4 at Soerabaja......It's 2 BBs and cruisers should make some noise.......I must first find out if they are the old or new US BBs.........if they are the old......in we go.......
Lost another TK to subs today.........the protection of my TKs is the poorest part of my gameplay(in this game at least)........and my inability to move fuel and oil is hurting my frontline ships..........
Tulagi was Abandoned........
Lunga will also be vacated this week........
In Burma ........supply is again in the red ....across the board as his daily bombing runs take their toll........
Thread help me the next few turns will be bad...................

Hi, Capt. I'm not sure............we shall see.........good Arty unit though.....
June 11th? 1944.........Sorry, I will try to be more precise......
I-54 hit a CVE moving north from Timor.....heading with a large invasion force to Maccasar(I think).......and then hit a DD as well before being badly damaged.....but ...shock ...horror....the 3 BBs with this force are RN BBs......and will be a bigger task for my SAG 4........so I'll wait until next turn until I decide wether to send them in......
Meanwhile the CA Maya was hit by a American sub......off Iwo Jima......she will....I hope limp home......and AAG - 2 will move on to Pelau...........
An AK and an AP were hit by Speedy's subs.............
Also...as an addition to the above post.....Speedy is airlifting new units into Moulmein......6 new ones.......he will go to cut my supply line on the river to the north.........so I've moved the Imp. G. Div. to the river(3 days away)....but I need more troops to build an effective reserve........the 81st Div is re-building at Saigon....but will need time.......I will look to strip Malaya of some troops....in hopes that Speedy has amphibous plans in this area...............
Hmm those marianas garrisons look light to me I backed off an invasion at this point in my game with PZB because he had c 90k per island.
p.s. watch Tinian its the only non mountain mariana and is therefore the most vulnerable its where I was going to land
Hi Andy...thanks for the tip about Tinian.....I must admit to not paying enough attention to terrain mods........
I agree my Marianas garrisons are a bit light.....I had hoped for 1200 av on each Island.....but here I must say hats off to Speedy.......he is persuing a grand strategy of an attack on three fronts at once.....To hold Burma....some troops were re-routed from CENPAC....I hoped to have time to fill these holes later....the same is true for the DEI......over 1500 av has moved to those fronts rather than CENPAC.......
Also after his bypassing of Kwaj/Tarawa/etc....he has cut off around 125,000 troops.........which has made me twitchy about overcommiting on to Islands........having said that when he takes one of the Marianas....all the troops on the other Islands will be cut off once he gets his LRB in..........the thought makes me shudder.......
and when Speedy comes he will come with everything......leaving just one lonly sentry at PH to turn the lights off at night.........if I had my Carriers better placed....maybe I would raid Pearl........
Oh, bugger......that shows you how rare it is I post one....I've forgotten how........anyway........my aircraft losses for this day.......all attacking his DEI Invasion force...posted below..........OUCH..........
I hit the CVE Kalinin Bay....
also sank SS Razorback.......
Fuso was attacked but escaped.......hope she makes Devao.....
Ahh T......now it all comes flooding back........AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/14/44
