Still telling myself, "They're always right and they never lie."

The word "sane" is conspicuous by it's absence in that definition

Of course "sane" from the Latin "sanus" meaning "healthy" - I wouldn't dare suggest Ray is somehow mentally instable. - The only time I've seen him physically instable was due to a freakish encounter with some bottles of Bordeaux

You've clearly forgotten that 143-km walk you took me on, through some disgusting Belgian countryside. You must remember, I said "pant … puff … gasp ...I can't go on" at which time 15 other party members said "pant … puff … gasp ... thank God 'cause neither can we". All except FinalDrive who said "c'mon, just round the next bend is the spot where Pieper pissed". (He was right, there was a small puddle.) [:'(]
Now where was that?[&:]

For the un-initiated (which is like 6 billion people minus the two of us) a short translation :

"some disgusting Belgian countryside" = "Hollerath, Germany"
"143-km walk" - slight exageration, more like 142 km
"Pieper pissed" = "Peiper pissed" - I know you are allowed to create new English words, but surely that power doesn't extend to German surnames, does it ?

Apart from those minor alterations the rest of the story is *exactly* what happened

I can't blame Ray.  Looking down that path in photo #9 looks like forever.  I once read some statistic that the average US American will get in his car and drive if the distance is more than 300 meters.  The "US" is in there so as not to offend the Canadians and Mexicans, who are undoubtedly much more energetic.

This is the part where I confess that I also took my car to drive 300 meters down the road ... to the football field to play a game. Got a lot of grief for that from my team mates - don't know why, I wasn't a lazy b*st*rd on the field, only off it [8D]
