The answer lies in what George Washington last said before he crossed the delaware.

Was it?

a) Get in the boat men
b) Get in the boat infrantry men
c) Get in the boat Engineers

set all to follow

Post by Timmeh »

PBEM CHS 157 on PI

-several units in hex A are divided into 2 groups.
-group 1 set for hex B with a few units set to follow one bde.
-group 2 set for hex C with a few units set to follow one div.

result: group 1 is still 14 miles from hex B but its follow units are already there?
group 2 has arrived but only the lead unit and all units set to follow are sitting without move orders back at hex A?

A big hearty WTF ! or of course what did I do wrong??

** edit : I think I figured it out but it still doesn't explain why at least the last units "set to follow" show up in new hex before the unit there are following !

Figure out which unit has the highest fatigue.  Then have the other units in the hex follow it.

I can't help but hear the Tick's battlecall " SPOOOOOOOOON!"

I fudged it by trying to set to follow twice from one hex... still doesn't splain why the snlf and engs show up first and the 65th is still 14 miles out. I set them last in that hex so you think atleast that would've worked. I must say, I've had a few occasions where I look at the orders in a given turn to some units and wonder what the hell I was thinking last turn [8|]

All in all I'm making leaps and bounds in entries for my new book

Timmeh's 10 do's and 500 dont's for witp [;)]

Don't feel bad.  In my first real game as Japs it took me until March to take down Manilla and April to take down Singapore.  The only saving grace there is I was able to kill ALL allied CV's and CVE/CVL with only the loss of Akagi.

I've made so many mistakes in that game it's unbelievable.  :(

What game would that be? I would love to have seen the face of the officer on the bridge of the Akagi.

"They are trying what with bi-planes! They will never hit us!"

I'd say after about the 3rd torpedo hit they began to have respect for the stringbags!
