TOAW III and Windows Vista?

Post by LOK_32MK »

Does anyone know if TOAWIII will work with Windows Vista Home Premium Edition?
Trying to get a new PC and wondering if I should stay with Windows XP or go with Vista.

Thanks

None of the testers have Vista, as far as I know, so I can't give you a definite answer. If you do get it Haris, let us know how it works with TOAW III, okay?

Kind of funny how you decide what computer to buy based on whether it runs TOAW. I kept my Windows Me PC for years just to run ACOW, TOAWI and TOAWII. I waited until TOAWIII came out before switching to Windows XP.

In these parts a computer that comes pre-loaded with XP also entitles yuo to purchase acheap copy of Vista - by cheap I mean NZ$32 - about US$20 - you might want to see if that's an option.

I've been running COW on Windows XP for four or five years now. [8|]

Same, never had any problems running ACOW under XP, and TOAW III will probably run smoothly under Vista as well.

I haven't done that, Microsoft did, it's a screenshot from my new PC..[;)]

..take a screenshot of Vista from the web, take a screenshot of Toaw3, Open the Vista screenshot in a paint programm (i use corel), import the toaw3 screeenshot as an object, adjust size, place, distort, combine objects, adjust size of entire picture so that it fits in here, save as .jpg..

Btw, i answered your PM over at XG, did you read it?

..i wished i had a PC that was able to, but even then i wouldn't use it until the first service pack or so, and even then i could see no reason to hand my money over to a billionaire while i could also buy some wargames or military history books for it..

So far I have beta tested Vista since september. Yesterday I just downloaded vista ultimate. To this day I have had no problems playing SPWAW, FOF, OPART, CIV4, Railroad Tycoon 3 and Age of Empires 3. Once you get past the "mac on crack look" this OS is one powerful and stable system. Get it guys, it is worth it

@parusski:

Could you tell us about your 'physical stats' vis your 'puter'? The games you mention aren't so 'graphic' intensive as to be much threat to an OS, eh?

Also: what parts of the vista OS are the most to your liking, and which are more or less un-used by you?

I'll note that I have the 'base minimun' to run Vista, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing right out of the box, eh? Something about 'increased' ram requirements comes to mind, and an expectation of a higher level of vid-card.

Your comments?

Yes TOAW III does work with Windows Vista. i recently had to change PCs and the new one came with Vista Home Premium. I tried a couple of scenarios I have not seen any issues yet.
