Werid Italian Platoon ldr

Post by robot »

For my core I purchased a platoon of lt morters thay came with an Italian platoon ldr. I hope its the oob screw up and not my oobs alone. The ldr has an 381mm gun that he can fire 128 range I believe I remembered the range im positive of the mm. Thie is his primary weapon I really dont think this is right. Believe me it is very nice but i dont want to use it this way. How do I go about fixing this if which im sure it is a screw up. I just believe a squad of men that has a speed of 8 or so can move a weapon of this size that fast do you. Man when it goes off its like the atom bomb blasting away every thing trees and all go down. I had reattatched the morters to my platoons in the company so did not really pay any more attention to the dam squads just kind of let them sit around doing nothing till I decided what to change them into. Can anyone help me on this problem.

Which unit is this, robot? Open the OOB editor and see if you can track it down. This does seem weird. Maybe a typo slipped in. You can correct it easily enough.

8.403 Alby I may be getting some screw ups in my oobs. He is listed when you buy a lt platoon of morters. If I go into the oob editor what or how do I change it around. This is for france oob.

There is NO difference in the Artillery system between 8.403 and Enhanced; we used the same 8.403 mech.exe for Enhanced. The only difference is the "historical ratings"...the ones in Enhanced are different.

The problem you indicate is not an OOB issue as such: it's that you have "changed" OOBs at some point after buying your units. The wrong weapons data is being referenced.

Robot,

Do you know how to do what Alby is saying?
Step 1.  Determine which save game you want to modify.
Step 2.  Open your save game folder (called SAVE) and find the save game you want to modify.
Step 3.  Make a copy of that save game (using cntl + C).
Step 4.  Paste the copy onto your desktop.
Step 5.  Change the name of the copy to a scenario name (I use scen400 for my working scenarios).
Step 6.  Drag the scenario from your desktop into the scenario folder (called SCEN).
Step 7.  Open the SPWAW Editor and load in scenario 400 (which will look empty the first time you do this, but don't worry your scenario is there)
Step 8.  Make the weapon changes to the unit data in the editor that you want to make and then save from the Editor.
Step 9.  Open your SAVE folder and find scen400.  Make a copy of scen400.
Step 10. Paste the copy onto the desktop and rename to the save file you want.
Step 11. Move the new save file into your SAVE folder (overwrite the old file).

There you go.  Now you are ready to play with the corrected save game

I think robot is intimidated by the OOB Editor -- he shouldn't be. I understand why PBEM players don't wanna do this, but solo players should at least use it to see what they have to work with.

For OOB/TOE students, it's fascinating. I've made some minor formation adjustments just for my own use, but Enhanced is pretty much the last word.
