Yoktown is at Pearl coming out of refit, Lexington is on the West Coast and in 60 days I get another Essex Class and 2 Independence CVL's

I thought Yorktown had been sunk along with Victorious in Timor sea ? Or was it another ship ?

Anyway, I must say I really enjoy this AAR, thanks in part to your audacity. Instead of waiting for an inpenetrable allied death star an proceeding from there you play the game and try things. It really makes this war an interesting story for us spectators.

Keep on being audacious, it will pay off eventually !!

My mistake

Hornet and Independence are at Pearl with the BB West Virginia

Lexington is 24 sys on the West Coast, with Tennesee (19), Revenge (63), Repulse (19), Missisipi (60), Pennsylvania (40), South Dakota (36)

Sunk so far

Yorktown, Intrepid, Indomitable, Victorious,Princeton and Hermes

Likely to sink Langly and Formidable

with Franklin, San Jacinto and Bataan arriving in next two months

Attacking with my forces in a PDU environment against a carefull opponent who preserves his forces like Pauk does is tough he is playing the defensive game exceptionally well.

PZB attacked giving opportunities to counter Pauk doesnt he sits back and forces you to come to him which is very very tough

OK it looks like I got away with it my carriers got out of dodge and Pauk did not pursue which was slightly unfortunate given what was waiting for him at Makin.....

Ah well plans they are afoot perhaps the next attack will go better

Not a great finish either BUT we did get through trained 60 xp pilots are just not good enough against these Japanese aces forged in the heat of bombing a disabled radar set 60 miles outside of Rabaul for 18 months - the masters of the low level ground attack prove themselves to be the master of HL A2A once more

Actually the odds were not much in my favour and I was outside of my radar coverage but none the less thats a months worth of P38's and you can be sure that Pauk will replace his quicker than I can.

PDU plus Ground Attack training and control of production IMO is going to prove extremly tough to play if the allies Gd Attack train and may well be impossible for those like me who refuse to

My losses were heavy no question but I have a fresh B25 Group that can take up the strain and with P38J's coming on stream I would hope to keep Rabaul quiet

If I can I can advance onto New Britain and capture Gasmata or Sag Sag or move toward Finchafsen and Lae whatever happens I now need to take a page out of Nomads book and try and launch low risk invasions against Pauks MLR

OK Plans they are afoot 2 months of building up bases and siezing what I can in SWPAC and then I have decided to go for Rabaul
 
I will land 2 Army Corps totaling 8 Divisions over the beaches and will move immediately to reduce Rabaul
 
Decision made if Burma and the Marshalls are stalemated thre Rabaul will be mine !!!

I am keeping Rabaul suppressed - at a cost I need to learn from what Nomad did and conduct a light amphib campagn in and aroundNew Britain I am 3 months behind the PZB game but so be it if this is the way to attack I will do it.

I will attack Gasmata Sag Sag and other bases in the vicinity

I lost a couple of days combat the highlght was a full scale raid on Mili escorted by LOTS of Corsairs into which his airgroups walked and got shredded !!!

Today things went well I switched target to suppress AF's around Mandalay and look what I found 20+ fighter on the ground at Lashio !!!!

Tut tut tut were we up to something Pauk !!!!!!

I dont believe it Pauk left a lvl 1 AF at Gasmata unguarded !!!!!

Tomorrow I will sweep and LR CAP it and airlift in 40th US Div troops if I can hold onto that base its a huge boost

Elements of a Burma Bde unloaded at Akyab I would like to secure that base for future operations

Hmmm lots of fights today but it looks like I have the edge over Pauk in losses he lost c 80 to my 40

Kiriwana is now lvl 1 and lots of seabeas are there

Gasmata has half of a US Div (I have 1 64 plane Commando Gp flying them in these planes are beasts for transporting things waaay better than the C47 !!!)

KB is spotted SW of Rabaul heading SW my carriers are out of position but I have 200 LBA in range of Gasmata AND escorts to get them through plus Marine SBD's on Kiriwana and B25J's at Dobodura

I wonder if Pauk would try to counter invade there are some transports and a lot of TF's near Rabaul  ?
 
I have pretty much all of 40th US Div at Gasmata there now flown in by C46 Commandos and supplied by C47's
 
I tried another raid in China I am determined to keep his pilot quality down at all costs in PDU I MUST interupt his training 'schools' if I don't I am dead.
