How compare to BiItaly, BiNormandy, Korsun Pocket?

How does Battlefront compare to Battles In Italy, Battles In Normandy, and Korsun Pocket? I am waiting eagerly to purchase Battlefront, but I have all three of the others. I am hoping there are some good changes to the interface, enough to warrant the $50 bill. [;)]

While the game is familar and easy to begin for anyone who's played BiN or BII, you'll quickly find that playing (and not getting wiped out!) is a totally different story. Indirect fire, direct fire, no automatic protection from overruns, re-supply of attack bullets, and finally the ever dangerous defensive fires make anything you do very different than DB. Also very handy when destroyed units come back on the mapboard[:D]

I see you still have to exit the game to play a different scenario once you've started one. I hate that. That's an item I found very bothersome in BiT, BiN, and Korsun.

the game is awesome.  i knowwhat you mean about exiting to get to a different scenario but that only costs u like 20 seconds tops.  I have not had a chance to read the manual but played the russian front scenario for about 7 hours or so.  truly fun.  i am an old school counter and board wargamer so this is everything one could want in that type game. 

icing on the cake was overrunning these damn russian paras on turn 12 that were behind my lines (they paradrop on turn 1).  they were sitting in a wooded  forest so even at 10-1 odds  i sucked down  4 casualties but it was worth it. 

PBEM will be the main attraction but the computer gives a decent account of itself. 

thats the preliminary report.

I'm 51 and have never played wargames on a board. Risk is about as close as I have come to that style. The more I check this Battlefront out the more I am amazed at how much better it is than BiN. Now I don't want to go back to finish games I started in Korsun and BiN! After reading your post, I took the Russians side and you are correct, the first thing I had to do was drop a paratrooper in. I get so wrapped up in playing with all the new features and enhancements that I have not even finished my first turn yet. I best get back at it... [;)]
