How can you make a custom campgain?

Hi,
One can create a series of individual mission to be played in order to form a Static Campaign. [;)]
Creating a Dynamic Campaign, like the one included in the simulation is much more difficult and involving. Some would say mysterious. [X(]
The simulation readily offers mission creation tools and documentation. Not so for Dynamic Campaign creation.[:(]
You can open up the games campaign files to see what is there but be prepared for information overload and as I mentioned, no documentational help. [:-]

John DiCamillo has said he is going to help personally one making dynamic campaign. However, he requires some sort of proof that you are serious with it and are really going to make it done. I guess that means you need to write some sort of plot for campaign, create some missions to prove you can do it and probably something more. Although I believe one is in the process of being created. Its creator indicated that Milos help is either right on or very hard to get. [:-]

I truly think that being able to make readily create original dynamic campaigns would greatly activate the Starshatter community. Think of the possibilities. [:'(]

I'm interested in a dynamic campaign myself. A problem is more ships,political entities,commercial entities,planetary systems etc....to expand in and work with. Do we modify and expand the existing campaign and Blue Drift region? Go a whole different route? Do a B5 type of Galactic Region?
Seems it would probably be easier to modify,expand,tweak and fillout the existing campaign setting with Starshatter.
Thoughts? Comments? different ideas? Hate Mail?
I'm just pleased to see people discussing things in this forum instead of the odd post here and there...........

Terellian Alliance
The Terellian Alliance is an economic, military, and political alliance of five major star systems in the Blue Drift. The republics were formerly second-stage colonies established during the Terellian expansion period five hundred years ago. The alliance is a federal system in which each component maintains autonomy over internal affairs, while interstellar issues are managed by the CEO and Combined Senate located on Jarnell.
Independent Systems
Several star systems on the border of Alliance space have managed to maintain their independence from the larger federations that surround them.
Marakan Hegemony
The isolated and internally secretive government of Marak has nevertheless developed a powerful diplomatic hold on many neighboring star systems. The Marakan system has long been an example of dynamic economy and prodigious military might as the systems have been locked in a cold war struggle with the Terellian Alliance. However, recent decades have seen the old order start to crumble as the Marakan government has grown more and more unpredictable.
Working off the established backdrop and filling it out with corporations,the independent systems,research stations,traderoutes,etc...

I wouldn' mind seeng a campaign where the Terellian Alliance goes back to attack the zorgon. With battleships of course.

I had created three missions of a static campaign and was working on the fourth when 5.01 was announced originally. I was basing it around the idea the Zolons were trying to fill the void created by the Marakan defeat..and looking toward the Alliance territory.
It incorperated mods of a Marakan BB and re-designed Alliance Hvy Spectre.
Around the same time some of the existing campaigns were cracked open and given to the community. I had considered the thought of a dynamic campaign until I realized just how much of an undertaking it would be without some type of guide on the 'how to's'.
If anyone was considering this idea I would strongly suggest they learn all the ins and outs of mission creation, ship modding, galaxy structure and game play. Then full understanding of .dat creation would be needed to put it all together.
If I had to guess I would say it could take as long as six months of every free moment I had to create a 10-15 mission campaign, then it would have to be beta tested at least half as long to find bugs...maybe longer.
Couple this with the fact the my style of mission creation (usually heavily scripted) may not be of interest to everyone.
Love this game as I do, I cannot justify that kind of investment of time. I believe a group effort of 3-4 people that were on the same page could do so much easier.

I concur with most of your insights.
Creating a dynamic campaign can be done, but with much difficulty lacking SDK data readily available for reference that specifically focuses on such creations.
Just looking at all of the data and files included in the simulations included campaign is daunting.
Still, after I complete my static campaign for the Cartel, I may attempt to create one. Aren't I the daring one? [:D]

LOL.Well that will be interesting then,as right now i have just finnishedup the training missions.Have to remember to make alot of screenshots for this fellows career.
