Yes, but you can't play Massive Multiplayer unless you are online [:)]

Would that be 'massive multiplayer' or the (novel, I grant) single-player 'massive multiplayer'? [;)] I think it's the latter that is causing confusion.

Confusion there certainly can be!  It's hard not to associate the CoI game when describing MMCCIII because the intimately act together, BUT operate independantly.

You can have any numner of player ON the MMCCIII STrategic Map battling for Sectors, but any CoI Battle is going to be CoI and nothing to do with MMCCIII, so H2H is all you have got.

Then just as you thought the mists were clearing, you find that you can fight your CoI Battles in Single Player OR H2H.  Then the Coup de Grace is delivered when you find out there is a Single Player Server!!!

I would welcome any simple one liners to describe this!...[&:]

Try using BHQ in conjunction with MMCCIII.

then, if you're game, fire up teamspeak to hear your opponent wail as as you blow away his T34's

Yes, until we engineer a chat service into the engine (is on the agenda for subsequent releases), TeamSpeak actually does work very well on the whole.

Hi there,
I have an issue when launching MMCCIII MP  .. I get the following error message (just after the popup where you choose which side you want to play):
Failed to Extract Units First time..\Games\Save\CC3Start

I have checked and have no such directory ... I am not sure what I am doing wrong ...   I have installed MMCCIIIMultiplayer in the Close Combat ModSwap Utility .. so it should be working ?

Edoras,

I'm not sure - hopefully one of the Simtek folks can figure this out. All I had to do was install it using ModSwap, type in the server and port info in the MMCCIII manual and I was off to the races.

Hi there,

My brother sent me the CC3Start which was in fact a file ... I put it in Games/Save directory and now everything is ok.  Don't know why I did not have the file in the first place though ...

Neither do I.  It should have been put there by the installer [&:]

You mean an online Multiplayer Server?  The Multiplayer Server is not released with CoI, however it will become available to the Community in due course.

This file should have been installed with the original installation.  I have no idea why it has gone missing.  Yes, of course you can have a copy:

This B-29 did pretty good for one mission

"On January 27, 1945, the B-29 identified as "B-29 A Square 52" scored 14 kills over Tokyo, Japan, as follows: rammed by two fighters, gunners then shot down 12 more fighters, the damaged bomber flew 1,500 miles back to Saipan on three engines, crash landed, all crewmen survived, but the aircraft was written off. This is probably the highest number of air-to-air kills by a single airplane during one mission. "

Off course, these are crew kills, but it is an airplane (Me-109, B-17) ) that gets the stats right?

Is one of the servers for MMCC3 more popular than others?

I visited 2109 and I was the only one there; ended up playing a single player game.

Likewise, is there a time of day when there are more players on the servers?

I've been popping in and out at random intervals on port 2108...had a few H2H battles and a few more AI entanglements.

EMIR,
I had the same problem with the games\save\start. What had happened in my case was I deleted the saved game after playing it(like a moron). If your saved games screen doesn't have the cc3op then I suggest reinstalling
COI.It worked for me and I didn't lose my other saved games.
