Man 2 Man

Post by 22sec »

OK, I have the new patch (Thanks), and was trying to design a basic 3-4 Man Cover 2.
I want the corners to cover the receivers, one OLB to cover the TE, one OLB to cover the HB, and one ILB to cover the FB. In the pre-snap I give the respective players their command to Line Up on the specific position, the after the snap I have given them the M2M command. The problem is the LB's proceed to cover the Receivers. Am I doing something wrong?

There are two ways to set up M2M.

The first is to Line Up: on receivers, as you did.  I have asked for keys to the receivers as well, and that may be in the game in the future.

The second way is to use the M2M cover AI.  I usually have the corners cover the fastest (SP skill) two non-backfield receivers and then set my linebackers up on the whom ever I want them to cover. You do not use the Line Up: command with this.

If you are doing a straight Cover 2, the cornerbacks would set up in a short zone and the safties would cover deep.  A five short - two deep zone works well, as it allows one linebacker to blitz or cover the back.

I tried the second method for a quick test and that appears to be the way to go. I really appreciate everyone's hard work, and it looks like maybe MFB has turned the corner.
