Scoring points as head of a carrier group?

Post by TigrisJK »

I just made the final campaign and made Commodore (whee!) and got my first carrier command.

And immediately realized that I wouldn't be scoring the same amount of points I would with a cruiser group, since with a cruiser group I cut swathes of destruction throughout the entire field. Usually clear a sector in the first go... three cruisers and a destroyer are extremely potent if used well. Usually scored 2000-3000 a go, once I got good with a cruisers.

How do I score points with a carrier? It's not like I'm going to use my carrier to go hunting after people. Do my fighter/attack craft's kills count towards my mission total?

you can also get command points, basically points for directing anyone under your command. This doesn't always apply to just your squadron or group. It applies to anyone under you in the chain of command when you look at the FORCES tab.

Point are given every time you right click and order a vessel, even if it's just MOVE PATROL.

I am not sure exactly how the points are divied out, but I have gotten more points on some missions through commanding then though blasting the nasties.
