Yep, especially depot. They are really usefull when you want to set up a base of operation in ennemy territory. They allow you get replacements and you can take your winterquarters in (see my AAR), they prevent a garnison to surrender when sieged.

I use Forts carefully as I love to move my artillery around... however, a well positioned fort can be a strong asset.
