Well, Duh...............Im talking about this weeks up date. Last time they said only 5 items open. Well, how's the open items list going. Are we down to just one pesky one or do we have a few new ones from input here and from other Beta testers ??

That was the real Question..........

P.S. another report from the front would hold me over for a few more days. :))

Joel billings wrote on 3/25/02..."Not quite yet, but we hope to go gold this week sometime."

Since I posted the above on 3/27, I would think this should be a pretty accurate depiction of when, when, when...

Here's the exact status of UV in test. Yesterday, David posted a full build (545 Meg) version of the game for the testers. At that time we had only 1 known major bug. Please keep in mind there are always bugs, even when shipping, the issue is are they important or very minor. Since that time we've had 4-5 more come up that we are trying to fix (although they aren't show stoppers) while the full build continues to get testing. This is the first full build with all art and scenario files so we need to put a few days into it anyway. My hope, although I cannot guarantee anything, is that we will only need 2 more quick updates before we go for a gold final disk to be sent out to a few testers to get the final go ahead. I hope these 2 versions can be done by this weekend and that we can get a final CD out to testers early next week. This would put David in the position of possibly having a CD to send to production by the end of next week. We are trying to get this out ASAP, but of course I cannot say if or when another show stopper will pop up. Only a series of catastrophes will keep this game from shipping to the public sometime in April, but that's the most I can say. Personally, I'm going to Belarus in two weeks, and I really want this game in production before I go.

Yeah, I don't remember Talonsoft or SSI giving this kind of detailed feedback . . . or caring that much about the quality of the initial release. Let's help reward the Matrix team for their efforts.

Well, to be kind, I will not bring up names...

BUT isn't it nice to see a measured, open discussion of a game's development? Like UV's!

Rather than the arrogant-- "We will not do that because it is stupid and our marketing department..." has set an exact date for this hunk of craps release...

As I said, I COULD name names-- or games-- but why bother.

I agree why name names? I will not mind a few minor bugs. We have all been playing Pac War for how many years now??
