Controls not responding, captain!

Alright, so I bought Starshatter, at last. And it is a great game, certainly. However, there is a problem. Every so often, my controls just quit responding. I cant use arrow keys, or double click on an object to go there. I just have to quit the mission, thus losing everything I did. I tried downloading the patch, and I installed it, but when I start the game, it still says "Version 5.0.0".

Can anyone help?

I just looked.  I did a search for freeze, frozen, control, lock.  Everthing I could think of that had to do with this.  Nothing came up.

1) Go into your Matrix folder if that is where you have Starshatter.

2) Then open your starshatter folder.

3) Look for the stars.exe click on this to open game and it will bringup the v5.01

I had a similar problem with my shortcut and going through all programs/starshatter to initiate the game. Now i just go to the game folder and click stars! Viola,it works fine!
