Anti Tank guns + speed

Post by Muzrub »

Hi guys,

Firing speed- it seems a little to fast to me someties.
As the Germans I like to have an Anti-tank gun, I dont like using anymore than two Panzers in a game (normally dont use Tigers or Panthers)- so I prefer anti-tank guns, its more of a challenge + play hero.

Problem is my anti-tank guns , 75mm seems to have a massive advantage in terms of speed. It can destroy 5 or 6 Russian tanks without tiring, and in fact its becoming a little bit annoying. The Russians charge over with tanks and boom!
Their gone and my MG 34's clean up.

Is it possible to slow the rate of fire?

Also the spinning tank issue still seems to be happening, some of those Russkies look like their doing the Tango!

Naybe itsnot the speed that needs to be changed but the punching power?
eitherway its really making the game a walk over, especially with pre prepared trenches, you know where to throw those A-Tank guns- but I imagine it would be different against a human player as in the past in terms of gun placement.
But until I am able to portforward which it seems wont be happening soom I'm screwed on a human level.

cheers!

As I am sure you are aware, Cross of Iron is based on Ron Gretz's Real Red mod with kwp's Real Faust mod integrated in. The data is mostly straight out of those mods, which are a more realistic and historically correct set than the orignals from Atomic Games.

There is absolutely nothing stopping you or anyone else to mod that data to your own predilections and heart's content. In the CSO fourms, in the Mod Making forum there is a thread with an Excel workbook of all the CoI data as well as the original CC3.

Here is a link: http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showp ... tcount=166

These workbooks contain the most complete descripitons of the purpose and data limits of each column published to date. There are no "Unknown" columns that you get with the old Qclone .ini files, which, by the way are also revised and updated in a post two back from the link.

If you don't have Microsoft's Excel, then get the freeware OpenOffice suite, which was used to create several of the various workbooks for the series. Then mod, baby, mod!

I have used mods I didn't like, but I have never been shy to give them a try. Let us know what you come up with!

Hi Senior!

I have no issue with the historical accuracy- I would prefer a game suffer from accuracy than to dismiss the facts.

I'm not sure whether I am having alot of luck, but my anti gun cannot be hit once its placed in a good firing position in a trench........And nor do I think I should place it out in the open, otherwise whats the point- and I dont want my little dudes killed.

One of the problems is the games tendency to buy tanks instead of inf- tanks go up way to easy- but I suppose I will have to wait for an inf MOD thats not to tank heavy.
I also find that the gun emplacements on hills are a little too good- you can hit damn near everywhere on the map in some cases- now against a human player thats cool, they can knock you gun out with some ease after a loss or two.

But against the AI its a massacre.

cheers
