Interceptions

Still waiting on seeing an interception. Otherwise, this new patch is great. I would say this game is about 90% of where it can and needs to be. Yall please keep up the good work.
BTW here is some stats from a game I played last night using a playbook I am working on. Also if one was going to upload a playbook to a website, what needs to be included in the zip file?

*** Also included a 67yd punt return for a TD. It was the final TD, and iced the game away.

*** Also if you look at the player's ratings Chicago is the better team, with a lot of highly rated players on defense. This game played out like I thought it should.

Just out of curiosity, does the game save a Log of the game, showing the results of the play (e.g. QB passes to R2 for X gain, or RB1 runs off Left-Tackle, Ball-carrier tackled by Free Safety, all with maybe names of the players)?  Does the Log show the names of the plays called on both Offense and Defense, and the play result?

Ideally, you would also have a roll-up Log from week-to-week that would show you the tendencies of the teams and what plays they have called to date, and the average results of those plays (e.g. Week 5, Oakland, Play RBflip28L, 28 carries, 4.7 per carry, 1 fumble).  Is there anything in the game like this, or is someone developing such a logging system?

Yeah those stats are from the game log. It does include a play-by-play recap as well with results, and the plays called. You have to finish the game for the log to be saved. It is in a file named Gamelogs.

The play-by-play log would be a cool enhancement! You could see what plays were working, what was not, and what to tweak, if they were custom play designs. Also, you could add new custom plays to your practice play book and run them in a Sim to see how they work against a variety of plays, randomly selected by the AI Defense Auto-Play. This would be a much more effective way to test plays (under game conditions) than in the PDS screen, where you have no stats that you could use for an average, if you ran the play, say twenty-five times for effectiveness.

Maybe we might get someone to give this some thought for future enhancements.

SEC, my guess is that it is the plays being used.  No interceptions seem to happen to some people and not others.  I've never had the problem personally.  Are you using stock plays, your own, or downloaded plays?

My own plays which I am very happy with. The base D is a 3-4 with zones and man2man. Some of the man coverage is over some is under depending on what the safeties are doing. For example when the Safties are back in a cover 2, I assign the man coverage the under responsibilities. If their is one or no safeties back then the man coverage has over responsibilities.

Hay guys, where can I get these downloaded plays! Play-design is my thing from being in my FBPro98 League, and Maximum Football PDS is great!

BTW, is there special graphics being developed for the Center? In the Stock plays I am seeing, he is in a 3-point stance, rather than hands-on-the-ball!

Thanks

Playbooks, as well as many custom uniforms, stadiums, and other goodies are at www.fbmax.com

Back on track...most of my INTs are from people not directly assigned to the intended receiver, either caught tips or somebody just jumping the route.  It's been my experience that videogame QB's are much more accurate than their real world counterparts, making the "poorly thrown ball" interception rare.  IRL, covering M2M doesn't lead to a lot of interceptions because a good pass will usually be tippable at best, because they are relying on split-second information, and it makes sense that video games should be similar.

I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but that's all I have ATM.

I agree with the statement about QB accuracy and will probably look at playing with the games' constants to degrade accuracy.

League i`m using now , the first 8 games i did`nt see a pick at all . But last 10 games i`ve seen 1 to 2 picks a game . Sometimes 2 picks on one QB . Actually seen 2 interceptions run back for td`s ,and 2 picked off in endzone to stop drives. So at moment love what i see . Im using the canadian plays at fbmax for probally 70 of 80 teams i have . The other 10 using cfl plays came with game. On most part QB Reacting like they should same with defense . But sometimes , the cpu calls strange off , def plays. Had a game where team was behind by 4 with 45 seconds to go. On there 15 , backup quarterback in Darryle Lamonica , Second down and 10.Before the snap i see the defense crowd up near the line the line backers and safetys up close . I`m thinking maybe an all out blitz . Ball is snapped , flacker cuts across middlenear 25 no one on him , he`s chased down at the 3 . Now as far as i know linebackers never rushed. The game log did`nt show last 5 mins of the game so not sure what plays were called . But it was so unsual to see. As for the game 2 plays later they scored on a td pass at back endzone . So you never know what can happen.
