Low-Poly neo-BSG fleet - released by Coxxon

Post by Furyofaseraph »

You guys might want to check this out:
Scifi-Meshes BSG Fleet

I dont know what it has for maps (spec, bump, etc) but it would not be hard to come up with some if they are lacking.

Anyone feel like converting?

Wow! That is an outstanding SciFi site. Especially for artists and modders. Very impressive and informative.

I found some Paintshop Pro tutorials that will be useful. I may be dangerous now. [:D]

If you are going to tackle this... I'd be willing to help convert things for you and add the needed spec, bump and illum maps for them.

WDBloyd are you talking yourself?...

Urm. I just started downloading them, and I'm going to have a look at the textures - I'll see what I can come up with on that end.
Conversion will be a snap, biggest thing would be, of course, DEFing - as it always is.

No, I attemted to edit my post and for some reason it put in a quote of my message [:D]

Yes, deffing is VERY time consuming and exacting work. Given the weapon/systems included or needed, I could help in this department too.

By the way... where exactly can I download these ships?

[:)]  Yes those are the models we are working with.  You have to create your own spec, bump and glow maps.
We already have some in testing.  Are you interested in working with Badger and I or will you do your own thing?

I'd love to work with you guys, assuming wdBoyd is up to it as well. I mean, why do the work twice, right?

Okay, it seems I'm having a few issues trying to get the zip file, and I've got to be off to work in a we bit. I will try it again when I get home (2:00-2:30am-ish US East). After that I will try again.

As far as what I can contribute to this, I want to finish my Chimeran (and possibly Choir) fleet first, but I will do what I can between ships ^__^.

looking forward to the results you guys come up with for the new BSG.

Although I have no talent in the ship modding dept, I might be helpful in mission creation. It's where I have focused my attention while playing SS, and now with TGS.

I offer my services to assist, if needed. I can also do some beta testing, if you like.

Whatever the case might be, I have no doubt a team effort can be far more fruitful then a one man show. Based on the talent you have already it should be one for the books, so to speak, when it is done...

Good luck guys! [:)]

Rear view. Of course these displays don't display the illum effect that would be in the game.

Please let me know what craft you desire me to texture for Starshatter. We don't want to do needless duplication of efforts do we?

I you want me to .def them... I will need to know EXACTLY what should be placed in/on the ship in question. I'm not a BSG afficianado. I will need help in that area.

Hey, did you say you had a copy of an older BSG mod?

If so, we may be able to use the weapons and weapons sounds and their graphics in our mod. We don't want to reinvent the wheel. Of course we'll need to give credit to the creator if we use things. We could refer to it .def files too. Just a thought.

Another conversion. The Colmftr1. Have you guys already done this one?

I'm not going to do any more work until I get some input. [:)]

On a side note, I really like this craft. I says, jump in, let's go destory some toasters. [:D]

wdboyd,
You should be able to pick it up via yousendit. Here's the link...

FYI, Starbuck is the creator of this mod, not sure if he had help though.
