Committed Aussie (Pri 1) Opponent sought for Big B Mod and AB Extended Map

Post by anthonykevinluke »

Greetings,

I am currently in one PBEM and still have enough 'residual capability' to do another. Whilst I do seek an Aussie opponent (or similar time zone) I am flexible to play anyone if I do not get an Aussie taker. As noted I would like to use BIG B Mod V1.31 (seems to be very good) and AB extended Map. Happy to play either side. Prefer someone who can do at least one turn a day and maybe a couple on weekends (when in location, we all sort of have other lives, wives, girlfriends etc.). I am not a 'gamey' player and happy to discuss house rules to add to the games enjoyment. Not looking for someone who plays for a 'points' win from either side. Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Tony Luke

Well, if you DO get an aussie who has been committed, he should have plenty of time to do turns - provided they let him near a computer!
fair winds,

Matt.buttsworth,

Hi, Big B Mod can be found on Spooky's web site, Rogues, or Andrew Browns. These locations will give you a good idea about the Mod and there is a readme in the download files. A lot of information is also included on this forum under the Scen Mod section. Have a look and see what you think, several people have also commented favourably on this mod in other spots (search function). It is an excellent attempt to stop the ludicrous A2A bloodiness and massive losses. China is more balanced and BIB B (Brian Wisher) appears to have drawn from CHS and the NIK mods to create this one. There is no fantasy rubbish in it and it seems to play well. I am using it in my current PBEM with a chap in the US (the time zone difference limits us to at best one turn a day and sometimes only one every two days, hence my desire to start another).
Reference my experience; I have wargaming for 35 years and have played both UV and WITP. With respect PBEM; I have played four WITP games with one current. None of these were completed (played to the end) due to opponent withdrawal or oppoent surrender, furthest progressed was mid 1943. Please note that I have never withdrawn from an opponent regardless of the side I have played (side played - three Japanese and one Allied). For your consideraton.

Cheers,

Tony Luke

Bradfordkay,

You know, sometimes, when you write something, you just know what is going to happen! After I sent that message, reference the 'committed' comment, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that someone would pursue that line of thought. And besides, if you were going to be committed where better than down here in 'gods country', Australia!

Courage,

Tony Luke
