Rufe anyone?

Just wondering if anyone builds any Rufes, or are they a waste of pilots?

Rufes are totally useless....until you need some fighters someplace where you only have an AV, or where there is a 0 airfield. Then they are great.

Also, they can be based on CS to bolster CAP for any TF; very useful when KB is busy elsewhere

Plus they are the only type of a/c you can use in FF air units.

Yeah, I build Rufes. You can get by with a pretty small factory though.

I think the factory builds 14 a month.  I leave it at that.  You get 5 chutai of 9 planes each so there's a total of 45 in game at any one time.  I keep about 25-30 in reserve and shut off the factory when I hit that.

Edit: I turn the factory back on when I drop under, say 20.

I like them I use them on CS ships that operate with the KB for extra fighter cover. You can never have enough fighters of any type on CAP.

The Rufe is ace , I move them to the forward bases with 0 airfiels after i land a few base points , they deter and defend quite well in fact I have two units at Gilli gilli defending very well probably shot down about 10 B17 , they do have 2 x 20mm cannon so are much better then Oscars .
