Next patch date?

Post by morleron1225 »

Does Matrix have a release date for the next patch to TOAW 3? I'd love to be able to resume the FITE game that my opponent and I suspended because of the unit withdrawal bug. Also, I'm looking forward to the new scenarios. Any information would be gratefully received.

Thanks,
Ron

Very soon. A few last minute bugs are being squashed and tested for. Thanks for your patience.

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where –" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.

This is great and I just downloaded the new patch. It installs fine, but there is one small problem: it doesn't run. I get the following error message:

"There is an error woth your serial number as entered. Please contact support@matrixgames.com for assistance. Error code: 1073741819"

This is not the first time that I've gotten a similar error. I recently purchased "World at War: A World Divided" and have the same error. I can only assume that Matrix has changed something in their install code that is causing this to blow up. I have sent a couple of emails to support@matrixgames.com about the WaW problem, but have yet to hear back from them.

I am running this game under Linux using Transgaming's Cedega and have been doing so for several years now (going back to TOAW: COW days) with no problems. I'd hate to think that I'll have to give up this fine game because it has suddenly become unplayable for me, but I do not run Windows and will never again do so. Is there a specific file or piece of information that the game's validity checker is looking for that I could perhaps "dummy up" under Linux? I'm asking this question here instead of on the general support forum as my earlier posting there about the WaW problem has hd no response. Besides, you guys have been great about answering questions about all kinds of things regarding this game and I trust your answers.

Thanks for your help,
Ron [&o]

Ron, although you may not have received any help for your WaW inquiries, please do send off another request for assistance to support@matrixgames.com. Likely, they will be the only ones that can help you with this. Try to copy your request to Erik Rutins in a PM. He's pretty good at getting things moving when support is unresponsive.

Thanks for the info. If I don't hear anything from the support folks in a few days I'll contact Eric about this. I'm really looking forward to getting TOAW III running again.

Take care,
Ron

I've talked with Erik. They're escalating this to the people that are providing the protection scheme to see if they have a solution.

Thanks for the update Ralph. I hope they can get this figured out as I want to get back to the East Front again. I was about to send Erik an email to let him know that I haven't heard anything from the support folks, but I'll not do that now.

Take care,
