Oh yeah Smead? Are you really that smart? Or maybe not? Me thinks you are just likie the other MCS morons who know something yet it always turns out they ALWAYS know half of the story.

What about the rumanians, the finns, the slovaks? They were fighting the rusians too. They deserved it too?

No man, FDR let us down like Ike has let us down in 56. So NO US citizen has the right to blame us for staying behind the curtain. It was not our will. At least we fought and beat the red army. No too many can claim that can they?[;)]

Got out of the game myself a while back...

Better to quit while one is ahead. Hobbling around the field on busted kneecaps is hardly a worthy prospect.

I've always had a soft spot for the Stuka. It was the first model airplane I ever built and me and my dad spent a couple of weeks getting it to look just right. So many years ago. Just one of the memories I treasure.

Best wishes,

Nice, is that photo or illustration (3D render)??

Hi Oleg - it's a photo - all the aircraft photos I put in those earlier posts were from either the Alpine Fighter Collection, or the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum, both based at Wanaka, New Zealand.

The Yak-3 is one of the new builds done in the 90's with Allison engines, hte Hurricane was rebuilt by Air New Zealand at their Christchurch base (I used to be an aircraft mechanic for them) - it ws found in Russia as a wreck. I'm not sure where the Chaika and Rata came from but there's a fiar bit of info on them at the websites.

The problem with picking a favorite plane of WWII, is that for a large part, the plane's overall effectiveness was often extremely biased by the quality of its available pilot pool. No matter how good a plane might be, piss-poor piloting would send it down in flames. Much like this thread, as matter of fact...[:D]
