Wrong EQP File?

Post by Dr. Foo »

I made some changes to the base eqp file using the BioEd. I created some new equipment under the New Equipment section. I did this because I did not want the new equipment to be scenario specific I wanted it available to me whenever I mod or create a new scenario.

I sent my opponent my first turn of DNO and when he opened the file, he received a wrong eqp file warning. None of the equipment I added is assigned for DNO. Why is he getting this warning from a SCE file I sent him?

Will this negatively influence our game? I would think not but I wanted to make sure. [&:]

Thank you.

EDIT: Well it seems my PBEM turn is unplayable for my opponent. I guess we both need the same eqp file regardless if the equipment is assigned or not. I am replacing my eqp file with one that is unmodified and will replay my turn. In the future, any BioEd modifications will be kept in a separate file...modder's take heed! [X(]

Yes, that's the way it works. If it's a game against Elmer, it's only a warning, but for PBEM, you don't have a choice.

I believe that most people are fundamentally honest, but there's no reason to tempt people too much. It does cut out the possibility of handicaps, but...
