only the PWHEX file Buck - the other 2 are for renaming if you want to do something that Sid can Explain with Panama

ALL THREE files can and should be in the SCEN folder. However, ONLY the pwhex.dat file is actually used by the game code.

AS ISSUED pwhex.dat and RHSPW6642.dat are IDENTICAL. This is the "normal" RHS pwhex file - and some day will be the "spring" and "fall" pwhex files - when we have "summer" and "winter" files that are different.

AS ISSUED pwhex.dat is the normal case to use with a single exception: when the Panama Canal is disabled due to damage.

AS ISSUED, the PANPW6642.dat file is to be used in two cases:

1) You are playing CHS with RHS art and/or pwhex files. In CHS there is no Panama Canal - and you do not want ships transiting it - nor do they need to since none appear at Colon (Caribbean side).

2) You are playing RHS and Panama City suffers 90% port damage or more.

IF EITHER of these is the case, copy PANPW6642.dat to some working folder, rename it pwhex.dat, and copy that back to the SCEN folder - overwriting the existing pwhex.dat.

IF Case 2 above applies, and later Panama City has LESS THAN 10% port damage, the Gatun Lock is repaired,
and you need to restore the original pwhex.dat file. In that case you copy RHSPW6642.dat to a working folder,
rename it pwhex.dat, and copy that back to the SCEN folder - overwriting the existing pwhex.dat.

IF we go to seasonal maps, we may kill the Panama PW hex file concept. It depends if it has ever been used or not?
IF it is used, we will need 3 different Panama PW files as well as 3 normal PW files - one each for winter, summer and
"normal" (spring/fall). We also will have (already do have) three different sets of art - same seasons.

Note for purists - "summer" and "winter" refer to the Northern Hemisphere. Seasons are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere. But it is in the North we have freezing of the Sea of Othosk, rivers, etc. Also note that while Cobra prefers to use the term "summer" as I have done here, I prefer to use the term "monsoon" - because that is the important effect on our map. Whatever matters in a hex will be on our map - hex by hex - and if any place is affected by winter in the Southern Hemisphere during "summer" - it will be done that way.
