Upcoming Patch and PBEM games

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

Upcoming Patch and PBEM games

Post by Gregor_SSG »

The upcoming patch for Battlefront is in final testing and will be released soon, this is just to let you know that the new version will invalidate v 1.0 PBEM games (secure and unsecure) so you should finish any games in progress.

Don't suppose you would elaborate on some of the changes expected? I'm taking the plunge and will be learning the game tomorrow, so what should I expect will change from standard rules?

I know of three things they discussed on the board at SSG.

1. Fix the PBEM secure bug that prevents the player from saving the turn during a session and returning to it.

2. Improve the fog of war such that you don't get detailed supply status on enemy units - you will only get the maximum possibility, not the current state.

3. Fix the Naval Spotting bug that is caused when you move naval units, and previously spotted units more than a hex away go unspotted.

Essentially just a collection of bug fixes, no major gameplay changes.

Rejoice! I'm enjoying the game very much (my first main foray into operational level games). I went from my first game being a draw as Allies in Saipan to my second game an overwhelming victory (786 points)!

Keep those bug fixes coming!

...and release Carriers at War... *uses hypnotic powers*

Hello all.

I would very much appreciate a possible update on the patch. Thx.
