Family Business

I guess Mrs. Wilson has done her part for the nation. 10 sons in the same unit. Musta been an administrative oversight.

See the post below for the new and improved image

I don't know what the hell this logistics is that Marshall is always talking about, but I want some of it.

The link is broken, but if the original is not very high resolution, blowing it up will just give you a fuzzy mess. You can always reduce resolution on a picture, but once reduced, you can't increase it again. You have to go back to the original.

However, if you zoom in a bit (the Image Zoom add-on for Firefox came in handy) and squint a bit more, you may notice that the list of names (except the last) are all in sequence alphabetically. They appear to be all in the 'WI...' range with 10 Wilsons, each with different initials.

I think is the point of the original post.
Cheers,
Reg.

(One day I will learn to spell - or check before posting....)
Uh oh, Firefox has a spell checker!! What excuse can I use now!!!

Maybe the Wilsons volunteered with the provision that they all get to fly B-17s together..

OTOH, that might just be different families of Wilson's too. If that is the entire role of the KIA members of the group (not that I can read it mind you) it does appear there was an anti-Wilson uprising in the unit, or they were all sent on a suicide mission.

I have the feeling that this guy was their CO:

Forget the Manhattan Project! Cloning is the wave of the future. Of course if you clone all the physicists at Los Alamos, you can get the bomb in 1943.

Sorry Folks, [X(] especially those who cannot read scattered pixels.

Here's a readable version.

Mmmm, cloning? Government conspiracy perhaps. Maybe an X-file. Speaking of which, Has anyone ever encountered a Foo Fighter in the game. That might make an interesting random event. As if there aren't enough already. Ok, I'm guilty of stream of conscience writing here.

And as for this squadron. Has anyone ever seen this type of thing happen before?

Charles, Who's the kid in the photo?

I don't recall the actor's name, but the kid played Dennis the Menace on television. Mr Wilson was the crotchety neighbor that he tormented on a daily basis...

I have seen the same last name a couple of times in a squadron. When drawing pilots for air units, the game will assign a random name that works with the nationality along with two initials. By random chance, the same name pops up multiple times in a unit. In your case, you got a rare, but possible event with getting the same last name 10 times in the same unit.

That's him, Dennis the Menace. I think his name was Jay North.

Family members serving together was not uncommon.

In the Navy, family members serving on the same ship was against regulations. The Sullivan brothers broke regulations (begged, bribed or otherwise got around them) - and ended up all dead together.

The Navy really tightened up on the regs then (closing the barn door after the horse is gone).
