you should definitely consider it then. follow your interests. Also Coast Guard might be an option. I grew up down the street from a Coast Guard commander, one of the most admirable people I ever knew, next to my Grandad who was a Chief Warrant Officer in the USAF.

Although I'm not 100% sure, I think the biggest stumbling block would be the depression, I guess the OCD would depend on how in manifests itself and how bad it is. The officer is right, especially in the army everyone is a solider before anything else. Have you tried your local CIO? They will either have the info right away, or will be easily able to get hold of it.

Well, I did chat with the officer who was a recruiter but this was about a year ago, anyway. I will be honest too, I do prefer the High Seas myself although due to the Royal Navy's unfortunate cut backs, I am rather unsure if that a choice to take....

I am very sure that is the case indeed. The Army isn't a place unless you are committed indeed. [:D]

The navy seems more interesting than the army, although that's probably because I like playing around with machines and stuff. I can't really comment on the RN or army, all the guys I knew who were in have left.

ive beeen thinkin about the army and navy again, and a buddy of mine told me that i could get in the army but maybe not the navy

heres the problem, i have a back injury, a history of taking ritalin and was diagnosed adhd 15 years ago

will this be a problem lol

i know u have to tell ur recruiter this, but id like sum advice from experienced or knowledgable people

if army im thinking intel analyst, diver, or signals analyst

if navy, well i got a few things in mind

If you wanna B a grunt go ARNG or AR. Pick an MOS and go play soldier. If you like it transfer to RA - but if you think the Army life sucks then @ least you are only in for 1 weekend per month and 2 weeks per year. If you wanna go Navy go Reserve - same logic.

B real tho - you'll probably C some time in Iraq if U sign up as a grunt - don't BS yourself. Prepare 4 it. Realize that your unit will depend on you and you'll depend on them. People will be trying 2 hurt U - 4 real.

I can't say nothing about Navy - wasn't my field.

If you go AR/ARNG/RA and based on your MOS selections above you might consider being a gun-bunny. You put big rounds down range and you are normally a couple mile behind lines.

Actually considering goin in and making it a carreer but i think as an officer it would be hard to surpass my pappy. (that of course wouldnt bet he reason for going in but it is a bit of a motivation)

Well my friend was drafted to Polish Army as it's mostly Conscript (lucky me that im a student and will never have to wear a uniform[:D]) he was assigned to Armored Cavalery stationing in Wesola near Warsaw he was in Mechanized Inf. in his Company they had a sharpshooter with terrible sight (my friend told me that the guy was unable to hit anything[:D]) or Drivers that didn't even have Driving license[:D] and other fun stuff i wounder if US army is like this to... any way he was there 12 months. he went there with weaight around 95 kg and after 3 months he lost over 10 kg... but when he left the Army after 12 months he's weaight was over 110 kg's so the Army make him Fat[:D] after 3 months of initial training new conscripts showed up and he and his buddy's were just laying back drinking while the new ones had to do all the work[:'(]

Don't forget the RN has a minimum height requirement as well.
