31st July 1944............

Tomorrow I will get Peggy's.........Hurrah.........now if I only had the pilots to fly them................

Speedy has run 2 very good DD intercept missions in the last 3 turns......using 4 DDs into Paramishiro and environs......his net result has been 3 AKs and 3 PCs all hauling supply up north...........luckily a troop convoy has been overlooked(so far)...and will withdraw an Air Div. from the region.......

He seems to have abandoned his night bombing and is going in by day......he caught me with all my fighters on the ground and bombed Formosa....destroying 50 of my precious oil....bugger........

I had a good day in the ASW fight.......on the 30th.....badly damaging 2 SS....and hurting to some extent 3 more......I need that every turn.......

Things are quiet...which always means Speedy is up to something......I had hoped that my defense of Saipan....would have taken him 6-8 weeks to recover ready for Iwo Jima(the obvious choice)........but he may come sooner........I'll post maps of the area......soonish.......

May I suggest that you research an autopilot system. You could call it...Hal. Surely it cause you no trouble at all. [;)]

I hope hal has lots of brothers...........I'll need them all.....and hey, what can go wrong with computers.....

1-4th August 1944.......

Speedy has taken up daytime strategic bombing......he is bombing my oil in China.........which I can do little about.....as I have very little aviation support in northern China........but a raid on the HIs......did mean he lost about 20 superforts........and then he lost another 20 today on a raid on Tarakan....though I have lost 70 fighters in those raids..........

My resupply convoys to Kuching have been decimated by Speedy's airgroups.........northern Borneo is only a matter of time now......will try to run in some Fast Trans.....but this will be too little too late....

Worse news still is his carriers appear to be off on another long range raid..........I attacked his CV force(3cvs i think)....off Yap..........and lost 40 fighters and about 20 Helens.......to his 140 Hellcat CAP..........Kamis have moved to Pelau........

Thanks for an impressive mapping job. BTW, there hasn't been much news on the Burma front from speedy for a while. Did you manage to stabilize the situation?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Hi Capt........Burma seems stable at the moment........I have 6,500 av against Speedy's 10,000+...........I'll post a map later and show you the breakdown........when I can.........

and an apology to regular readers........I've been busy at work and have neglected this AAR for the last 12 turns..........

The highlights mostly being Speedy bombing all my resource centers............plans are in the offing and I promise a proper update soon...............no really................no....really...........

Hi guys.................

Back after some delay................

Most of the last 10 or so turns have only really involved Speedy bombing ........and little else..............apart from the subs...........the horror........the horror..........

Sometime in 1944............no........ really........ I've lost track................

Today I lost another TK..............to subs near Manila........but as Speedy moves in soon I'll not need them.........

Palambang is closed............I lost 5 AKs off Palambang trying to move supply today........

Bali and Miri.........will soon be under threat as Singkawang will soon fall........Del. Attack.....4-1 achieved......... and Speedy will move in his LRBs.........

Will post Burma soon.....but here is Borneo

17th August 1944.............

Speedy bombed the HIs hitting one of my Mitsubishi factorys..............I'm now down to building only 550 of these and I need 700.....but as I have 6000 in the bank.....I think the war will be over before I run out............

2 George sqdrns intercepted Speedy's Corsairs and DBs trying to finish off a supply convey near Palambang...........and rather uneventfully........1 George was damaged....and 1 of his DBs was shot down.........hmm.....

Tarakan resources bombed........

Sinkawang(sp?)....will fall tomorrow............

Fleet HQ meeting today.............will advise you the results later..................

Fleet HQ .............Burma............here is the current state......if I can keep my troops supplied....a big if..........I can hold North of Moul......for some time........so I think Speedy will flank.

I have entertained Ideas of abandoning Malaya........but I think I will fight with what I have.......

Sumatra.....an empty shell...... more or less......Sabang has some troops.....Palambang only Base Forces.......

Once Sinkawang(northern Borneo) falls........all up to Bankok will be cut off by allied airpower..........
