Black Screen and cursor only

Hi, bought CCCoI today, installed it (fully) and tried running the game. The music plays when launched and the screen goes black, with only the cursor showing. If I ctrl-alt-del it shows CoI as not responding, please help, it's winding me up now. Dxdiag was fine by the way.

Try holding down Ctrl when you click on play.
 
you can turn off videos from the resulting screen.
 
If that works you a missing the video codec.

Thank you, you were spot on, it now works! Any idea what the codec is by the way? The videos can be played in media player okay....

Use command centre to go to CSO Downloads.

Choose the Utilities section and you will find the codec there.
