Combat Engineer question

Post by Cheesehead »

I tried getting this answered on the list but only got one reply as there is a very interesting LOS debate going on there. Maybe some help here...

The Germans attack across the river with an ENG unit in an attack also
using a paradrop. The attacker rolls bad and gets a 1/- result. Does
he only lose the only the PARA or does he lose the ENG also? It says in 22.4.1 the ENG always suffers the first loss if it provides a benefit (which
it did). The hex remains French occupied, so the PARA would die as a
failure to take the hex.

Thanks

John

As the WiF Listers answered you, you loose both.
The ENG because it is first loss, and the PARA because you failed at clearing the hex.
